Day 1 – Thursday, October 19 – Departure from Clearwater
Leaving Clearwater we will drive to Northern Kentucky. We will provide Round-trip First Class Luxury Motorcoach drive from Clearwater to Northern Kentucky and hotel accommodations at the Courtyard Marriott in Cincinnati. Be sure, as we are driving from place to place, to notice all the beautiful, brilliant fall colors – something we don’t see in Florida.
Day 2 – Friday, October 20 – the Creation Museum and a Riverboat Dinner Cruise
It’s a full day with early check-in made available in order to freshen up before we head our to the Creation Museum. Imagine walking around in the Garden of Eden (pictured), or feeling the wind in your face as you watch Moses climb the mountain to see God. Or feel the salt spray while watching Jonah and the whale. Better yet, how about sharing in the birth of Jesus and watching him grow – taking on the Word of God and our future as he walks the earth. You can lunch at Noah’s Cafe or grab a slice of delicious pizza; then have dessert at Bruster’s Ice Cream or Uncle Leroy’s Fudge. After lunch you might want to go to the Stargazer’s Planetarium of sit in on one of the two shows. The children will enjoy the Petting Zoo, the Butterfly Garden or the Botanical Gardens; the older children will enjoy the Zip Line and Canopy Adventure Tour. Don’t forget to make your way to the Dragon Hall Bookstore where you can purchase memories of your visit. Another highlight will be traveling back in time – 6000 years to the dawn of creation in the Six Days Theater.
This evening we partner with the BB Riverboat company and enjoy a dinner cruise on the Ohio River. We’ll see Cincinnati at dusk, a prototype of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Stadium and much more while enjoying a menu of: Tossed salad with fresh baked bread, carved sirloin or marinated chicken , roasted marinated vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetarian pasta bake, finishing with the chef’s choice of dessert. While dining, we’ll listen to music, suitable for a special evening. After dinner we will make our way back to the Courtyard Marriott where we will rest up for the next day’s Big adventures.
Day 3 – Saturday, October 21 – The Ark Encounter and the Kentucky Horse Park
After a wonderful breakfast together and check-out, we will head out on today’s first adventure – the Ark Encounter. Think Bigger! – this boat is built to scale. It is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. In order to complete it, the builders used 3.3 million board feet of timber to make it the largest timber-frame structure in the world. Now we know what Noah was up against! On the Ground Level you will find the gift shop. Stop in a purchase something to remember your visit here. When you make you way to Deck 1, you’ll see the flood as it begins. There is a variety of animal exhibits where you will learn the types of creatures Noah and his family gathered for this journey. On Deck 2 you’ll see technology at its best in the days of Noah. There is a spectacular tour through the Pre-Flood World and witness how Noah and his family maintained the ark and took care of the animals. On Deck 3 you can roam through magnificent living quarters (pictured) and discover the impact the flood had on our world. You will also learn about the trustworthiness of the Bible and its history. Lunch here at Emzara’s Kitchen, enjoy a different kind of Zip Line Aerial Adventure, Petting Zoo, and Camel and Donkey rides.
Once underway in our Luxury Motorcoach, we will make our way to the Kentucky Horse Park. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of history’s most famous racehorse, the one and only Man o’ War! This is the only state park dedicated to the history of the horse. Befitting since it is in Kentucky. You’ll see Thoroughbred legends at the Hall of Champions, interesting breeds at the Parade of Breeds Show or head out for a walking barn tour to meet our police horses, see our blacksmith facility and explore a kids’ barn with stories and activities perfect for the children. There is a horse history museum, pony rides for the children, carriage rides (pictured), tours and shows. If you didn’t lunch at the Ark Encounter, you can here and you can have dinner here, as well.
There are three choices:
Bit & Bridle Restaurant – the menu includes hot and cold sandwiches, soups, and daily specials.
Paddock Café/Patio Bar – a great grab-and-go cafe on your way to one of the many ring side seats for a show.
The Tack Room Bar & Grill – sit on the edge of the arena and watch equine competition and hunter jumper shows while having a gourmet burger, fresh salad or sandwich delivered to your table. You can have a glass of wine with dinner, too.
If you enjoyed this park, and want to come back there are wonderful hotels and a campground where you can stay overnight. We will depart the Kentucky Horse Park in our Luxury Motorcoach and drive overnight to Clearwater. We will stop for refreshments and breakfast before our arrival.
