Sail the Coast

Sail the New England Coast

Let’s talk about this cruise…We are about to “Sail the New England Coast” during a season where “Mother Nature loves to flaunt”!  Do you want to cruise for 7-days or 10-days? You decide – we’ll put it together for you.

A 7-day cruise can either sail from Boston to Quebec City, Quebec City to Boston, or round-trip from New York City.

“You’ll travel back to the Gilded Age and explore Bar Harbor, an opulent summer retreat built for the 19th-Century elite. Quebec City’s iconic Chateau Frontenac is where you’ll find the best views of the Saint Lawrence River. And be sure to save an afternoon for a true ‘downeast’ lobster bake.”

Visit Boston, Mass…take a day to go museum hopping or visit American revolutionary sites or take in a movie or theatre production.

Next, you’ll visit Rockland, Maine; the lobster capital of the world…while there for the day stroll by historic homes and local shops or visit the impressive art collection at the Farnsworth Art Museum.

The next day you’ll be in Halifax, Nova Scotia…admire the rugged coastline that surrounds Halifax, the world’s second-largest natural harbor. This capital city was founded in 1749, so you’ll take steps back in history when you climb to the Citadel to witness the Old Town Clock, historic homes and shops, and the natural beauty.

You’ll have a fun day at sea to discover what’s available onboard your ship. Indulge yourself in the spa, or take a jog around the ship after a vigorous workout in the athletic center. You might just want to relax around the pool – daytime, but be sure to take in a movie or be entertained with the production on board. Don’t forget the casino and dance floor!

Wake up the next day in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island…color is everywhere from the Victorian architecture to the red sandstone cliffs. Sample homemade island jams, visit the Anne of Green Gables homestead and stroll the boardwalk. Be sure to visit the beautiful Victoria Park.

The next day, you’ll arrive to the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec. Located in eastern Quebec, it is one of the world’s most beautiful destinations. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the diverse landscape – from stunning national parks, mountains, and meadows to the rugged cliffs lining the Atlantic Coast teeming with wildlife.

As it grows near to the lunch hour, you’ll arrive in Saguenay, Quebec. This wonderful new city was formed in 2002 and is comprised of three boroughs. Situated on the shores of the Saguenay river and is a mostly French speaking region in north Quebec City. A small oasis amid the nearly uninhabited Canadian wilderness. You’ll enjoy the raw beauty of the river, wildlife and fall bursting in all colors. See how many whales you can count off the coast.

Finally, you’ll arrive in Quebec City, Quebec which lies on the Saint Lawrence River and is divided by steep bluffs into Upper Town which includes the old quarter and Lower Town. The Old Quarter is the only walled city in North America and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a carriage ride through the streets, admire the architecture, visit shops, and have lunch.

From Quebec City, Quebec you will fly home.

This 7-day cruise can begin in Quebec City, Quebec or New York if you wish and takes in a variety of cities including Sydney, Nova Scotia, a great jumping-off point for scenic adventures; and Saint John – Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, whose history is evident in its weather-worn look passing the tests of salt air and sea winds making it the greatest little city in the east, as well as Portland, Maine, which offers all the amenities of the big city with vibrant waterfront, museums, parks, and diverse shopping opportunities; within minutes you can be enjoying the view from a historic lighthouse or tasting juicy, local lobster.

The 10-day round-trip sailing begins in New York and includes the above-mentioned ports as well as Corner Brook, Newfoundland, visited by Captain Hook a modern city nestled among scenic hills near the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
