Detailed Itinerary – Keep your camera available whenever your ship approaches the shore to capture settings like the gorgeous French Riviera – which surrounds equally scenic Monaco – the dramatic cliffs of Italy and an overnight stay in the unique canal city of Venice.  Our suggestion would be to fly in the day before so as to enjoy the city of Monte Carlo and stay an extra day to visit the area surrounding Venice.

Day 1 – Monte Carlo, Monaco – Drive along the famous Grand Corniche with its stunning views of Monaco and the Old City; then stroll through this marvelous quarter and its pink Grimaldi Palace. And don’t forget the Casino. Explore the wonderful old villages along the Côte d’Azur from Nice to medieval Eze or Cannes, Grasse, and lovely St. Paul de Vence – each one a jewel to be savored.

Day 2 – Florence/Pisa/Tuscany (Livorno), Italy – Spend a glorious day amidst the fabled architecture of this Renaissance city. See the Duomo with Brunelleschi’s dome, the famous baptistry, Michelangelo’s magnificent David, the bridge over the Arno and the astonishing Uffizi Gallery. Visit Pisa’s superb Campo dei Miracoli and its beautiful cathedral and famed campanile. Or enjoy the Tuscan countryside, Siena, and San Gimignano, renowned for its medieval towers. Shopping: Find leather goods, lingerie, gold jewelry, Florentine mosaic, lace, marbled paper items, antiques, and fine art. Dining: Savor the prosciutto, pecorino cheese and infinite variety of breads, cakes, and salamis.  Connected with this port on Oceania are 50 different excursions from which to choose; from Culinary tours to Select tours.

Day 3 – Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy – Travel to Rome and revel in the magnificent monuments, from the ancient Roman Forum and Coliseum to the splendor of St. Peter’s Basilica with Michelangelo’s Pietà and his breathtaking frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Or enjoy a drive through the lush farmlands of the Roman countryside to lovely medieval Castelgandolfo.  At this Roman port, enjoy over 47 different excursions from “Going Local” to a variety of Wellness tours.

Day 4 – Salerno, Italy – Experience the sublime atmosphere of the towns and villages that punctuate the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site for its quintessentially Mediterranean scenery. Stroll along Salerno’s elegant lungomare, a shoreside promenade with far-reaching views of the sea and the mountains beyond. From Amalfi’s quaint Piazza Duomo, walk up ancient steps to the stunning Cathedral of Saint Andrew, while in kaleidoscopic Positano, take postcard-worthy photos of houses precariously perched on the shoreside cliffs. Behold the splendid Renaissance palazzi of Sorrento, float above the emerald-green waters of a fabled sea cave and take in extraordinary panoramas of the ruggedly beautiful coastline from hilltop Ravello.  There are 17 various excursions from which to choose – “Going Local” to Oceania Select Excursions.  Enjoy your day.

Day 5 – Valletta, Malta – Discover the myriad of cultural layers of Malta, from its amazing prehistoric temples at Tarxien to beautiful walled medieval Mdina, nearby Rabat, and Marsaxlokk, a colorful fishing village. Admire the stunning scenery and wander through imposing churches and down the streets of fortified towns where the Knights of St. John once held sway.  This is a special place with much religious history.  Enjoy any of the 21 excursions offered here.  They range from Oceania Exclusive excursions, Select Excursions and “Going Local”.  Enjoy the day!

Day 6 – Crotone (Calabria), Italy – Sailing back to Italy, you’ll enjoy this city of soaring castles and scenic coastline, boasting an eventful history dating to 710 BC. Standing on a promontory overlooking the sea, Capo Colonna Archaeological Park holds some of the most ancient remains, including a column of the temple of Hera Lacinia from the fifth century BC. The town cathedral is notable for its 12th century baptismal font and the icon of the Black Madonna brought from the East when the church was first built. Traverse a narrow strip of land to visit Le Castella, an ancient citadel constructed on a small island, or explore the museum in the imposing 16th century Castle of Charles V.  Choose from eight of the Oceania Select Excursions and take in Crotone for the day.

**You’ll notice the next three days are spent sailing around some very exotic and medieval cities in the Adriatic Sea.  We hope you will enjoy going places you’ve only dreamed about, discovering exactly why you should get out there and travel more…enjoy!

Day 7 – Kotor, Montenegro – Kotor is a beautiful walled medieval city of twisting, pink-paved streets, markets, and architecture reflecting Byzantine to Venetian influences. Stroll through the compact old town, admire the impressive walls and tour the imposing St. Tryphon Cathedral, consecrated in 1166.  Have you been to Montenegro?  Oceania has selected 21 different excursions for you to enjoy and use to discover this beautiful country.  Try a Wellness Tour or just “Go Local”.

Day 8 – Split, Croatia – Sometime around 300 A.D., Roman Emperor Diocletian built his retirement palace on one of the loveliest spots on the Adriatic Sea. Today his palace has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the heart of Split, the city that grew up around it. Split is now the second largest city, and much of it sits on a beautiful peninsula on the island, a jewel on the Dalmatian Coast. Many intriguing relics from the Roman, Greek colonial and Medieval periods can be found in the archaeological museum, which was founded in 1820, making it Croatia’s oldest museum. One of the top outdoor attractions is the green oasis of Marjan Forest Park with its zoo. There are also plenty of fine beaches nearby as well as a wonderful selection of 27 excursions.

Day 9 – Koper, Slovenia – Originally built on an island surrounded by swampland that was later drained, Koper was known as “Goat’s Island” when it was under Venetian rule. Today the once fortified Old Town of Venetian-influenced Koper has retained much of its grand architecture from the 15th to 18th centuries. The Praetor’s Palace, a blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles, proudly rises above the gray limestone main square. Nearby the Postojna Caves are the most popular underground attraction in Europe, and the Predjama Castle was carved out of a limestone cliff.  In Slovenia, there are 17 wonderful excursions selected especially for this port.  Maybe you’d like to set out on a Culinary Tour today.

Day 10 & 11 – Venice, Italy – Savor the majestic beauty of this amazing city as you glide along its canals and under its bridges, opulent palazzi and elegant churches lining the route.
